Steve Cooper is a New York-based musician and private cook. His unconventional path into private cooking lays bare in his dishes which are inventive and current but remain rooted in the age-old idea that food is, above all else, about people coming together, enjoying life to the fullest and sprinkling the past with memories that awaken the senses. There is a vibrant modern culinary conversation taking place and Steve wants to have that conversation with you.

Following a fortunate sequence of events, Steve wound up as the Grill Chef at Los Angeles mainstay Café Stella. He began to use food to promote his band, Spirit Animal, and successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign by offering private dinners in the homes of fans where his band was performing. Prix fixe "kitchen invasions" at restaurants in LA and DC ensued as have countless multi-course events, a DIY cooking show and a digital cookbook to accompany a 7" vinyl single release. Spirit Animal, meanwhile, has been featured on Rolling Stone and licensed music to popular TV shows like 30 Rock, New Girl, and CSI:NY.
